Balıkesir University hosted a strategic event in line with the goals of sustainable development and the green energy transition.
Organized under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, with the contributions of the South Marmara Development Agency (GMKA) and various stakeholder institutions, the workshop entitled “South Marmara Hydrogen Roadmap: Balıkesir Workshop” was successfully held at our university’s Atatürk Congress and Culture Center.
The opening speech of the event was delivered by Balıkesir University Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Fatih Satıl. The program was also attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersin Akyüz, Director of the Renewable Energy Research, Development and Application Center, Deputy Directors Lecturer Batın D. and Lecturer Metin Gül, as well as center researchers Asst. Prof. Dr. Melike Sultan Karasu Aşnaz, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Özdoğan Dölçek, and Lecturer Dr. Tuba Tezer.
The workshop was moderated by Prof. Dr. Tamer Yılmaz from Yıldız Technical University, while the academic leadership of the project was carried out by Prof. Dr. İbrahim Dinçer, an internationally recognized scholar in the field of hydrogen energy and sustainable systems.
As part of the program, a comprehensive presentation was delivered on the South Marmara Clean Hydrogen Roadmap. The presentation shared the project’s objectives, scope, and key findings obtained from regional analyses with the participants.
Throughout the workshop, regional hydrogen visions for the target years 2030 and 2050 were discussed. Interactive sessions were held with participants on strategy development, the creation of action plans, and multi-stakeholder cooperation models.
